I don’t have time to go through all website information. What are the most important mandatory steps for me to participate in Silver Jubilee event?
Key steps are:
1) Pick a Attendee Package (visit "Fees" page for details)
2) Transfer Registration Fee (visit "Fees" page for details)
3) Submit Registration form (visit "Registration" page for details)
4) Book your Hotel (visit "Accommodation" page for details). Note that the key dates are 27-Dec, 28-Dec and 29-Dec.
5) Of course, book your air and/or train travel tickets to Calicut. Note that the key dates are 27-Dec, 28-Dec and 29-Dec.

In a nutshell, what are the key events planned for this Silver Jubilee reunion meet?
College campus walk, Hostel visits, Convocation ceremony, NIT event (only formal event with NIT faculty), Gala event entertainment evening, and loads of nostalgic moments captured in photos/videos.
I plan to be there only for the key College Event and Gala Event. What is the key event date when College Events and Gala Event are planned?
Key date for College Events and Gala Event is Day-2 28-Dec-2022.
Are family members allowed for this reunion meet events?
Yes, please feel free to bring along your family members. Dinner expenses of your family for Day-1 and Day-2 will be collected in Registration fee. All other expenses of your family members will need to be borne by you.
I have some special requirements for bringing my family along. With whom I can discuss my needs?

Will we get a chance to meet our lecturers and professors who taught us?
Attempts are being made to invite retired lecturers and professors.
I have plans to meet up with other friends and families in and around Calicut. What are the days I must avoid any other plans?

How can I get latest and updated information from the registration day to event day?

Can I view the website on a mobile device?
Website is designed in GoogleSites. Most of the pages content must be viewable on mobile devices too except for Registration page. Mobile compatible link for Registration page is Registration - Mobile.
What is this Yaadein section all about?
Yaadein section is designed to collect old and new memories of REC Calicut 33rd batch (1993-97 batch). One of the key attraction is to provide a copy of Yaadein 1997 eBook and also create a Yaadein 2022 eBook.
Are these event dates final?
Yes, event dates are final. Dates were picked based on a poll conducted across REC Calicut 33rd batch (1993-97 batch).
What is the best way to communicate with Organizing committee?

Event FAQs
Is there any activity where family members are not allowed?
Family members are allowed for all activities.
How will the Day-1 DEC 27th be like?
Alumni and families start arriving at hotels around noon. Alumni collect welcome kit with Memento, T-Shirts etc. Families gather at Gala venue for a nice dinner, music etc.
How will the Day-2 DEC 28th be like?
Campus walk running down the memory lanes, Formal NIT meet (short), Felicitation of faculty, Ignite the nostalgic feelings with old photos memories, lunch at College, Hostel visits, Gala evening bash with music & entertainment
Will there be lot of walking on Day-2 DEC 28th?
Campus walk and Hostel visits are expected to involve lot of walking. Bring that young 1997 heart again to walk through memory lanes :)
Is there any dress code for any activity?
No dress code decided yet. However, welcome kit & memento includes a nice T-Shirt with specially designed event logo printed. We all might wear that for some group photos.
Will there be a professional photographer for the event?
Yes
How will be the photos/videos of the event be provided to attendees?
Most likely, photos/videos of the event will be shared through this website. Stay tuned for more updates.
How is the Convocation ceremony planned?
Stay tuned for more updates. Can't wait to throw the black hats up in air :)
Can Alumni perform in Gala event?
Most likely, yes. Stay tuned for more updates.
Can Alumni family perform in Gala event?
Most likely, yes. Stay tuned for more updates.
What is in Welcome Kit?
Welcome kit includes Memento, T-Shirt, Event Agenda, Logistics information etc.
Is lunch served on Day-1?
No. It is expected that all Alumni & families will arrive all through the day on Day-1. Only dinner is planned for Day-1 evening.
Is lunch served on Day-3?
No. It is expected that all activities wind up on Day-2. Day-3 is left open for checkout or individual plans of each branch / Alumni.

Registration / Fees FAQs
Why am I required to register?
Registration is required to confirm the number of participants attending the Silver Jubilee get together so that all reservations and arrangements like hotel (estimates only), event venue could be made.
Am I required to pay anything in advance for registration?
Yes, you will be required to pay non-refundable registration fee upfront.
Is there a registration fee for my family members?
Registration fee includes dinner costs for your family members accompanied.
When will I need to pay for hotel accommodation for me and my family (if accompanied)?
This website does not collect hotel accommodation fees. You are required to make hotel reservations directly with the hotel. You are encouraged to make hotel reservations soon to ensure availability.
By when, Registration form must be submitted?
Regular Registration will close on 31st May 2022 (extended timeline)
Late Registration dates: 30th Nov 2022 (Memento guaranteed) / 20th Dec 2022 (Memento not guaranteed)
How much is the late fee if I am not able to register by Regular Registration close date?
As many Alumni had registered in advance, we are able to accommodate late registrations without any late fee at this time.
Is Registration fee refundable?
No. All funds transferred are Non-Refundable.
Can I transfer registration fees of multiple Alumni?
No. Please transfer registration fees of you and your family only.
How do I transfer the registration fee?
Please use your bank's funds transfer method to transfer the registration fees to the bank account details provided in "Fees" page.
How can I be sure that Account number provided is correct?
Organizing committee has successfully transferred funds to the bank account provided.
How do I know if my bank transfer and registration were successful?
Once in every few days, "Registered" page shall be updated with names whose bank transfer amount receipt has been reconciled with corresponding registration submission.
Is dinner fee included in the registration fees?
Yes, please see Attendee Packages in "Fees" page.
What is included and what is excluded from Registration fees?
Based on the Attendee Package you select, Registration fees includes Memento, Day-1 dinner, Day-2 College Event, Day-2 lunch, Day-2 dinner, Day-2 Gala event.
Hotel accommodation and Travel costs to/from Calicut are excluded and must be borne by you separately.
Why should I pay registration fee using the offered packages only?
Organizing committee has finalized the package mode of collecting Registration fees for ease in managing options.
Can I contribute more towards Alumni funds to help college projects etc?
Yes, stay tuned for further updates on this.
Where can I find the instructions to pick the right package that fits my needs?
"Fees" page has all package details explained.
I am coming alone to the Silver Jubilee event. What packages are applicable / suitable for me?
Basic, Standard Self, Nostalgic Self, Premium Self.
I am coming with family to the Silver Jubilee event. What packages are applicable / suitable for me?
Basic, Standard Family, Nostalgic Family, Premium Family, Sponsor.
How many family members are allowed if I pick ‘Standard Family’ / ‘Nostalgic Family’ / ‘Premium Family’ package?
Alumni can bring along up to a maximum of 3 family members
Can I opt to not take Memento and instead have my Memento contributions directed towards College funds?
Yes, it is possible. Arrangements can be made to not order Memento for such Alumni and instead divert those funds to College. Please indicate about this choice of yours in "Comments / Remarks" field in Registration form and inform your branch committee member as well.
This option is possible for registrations submitted in time. While every attempt will be made to accomodate this request, it is not gauranteed due to limitations on bulk orders that might need to be placed for mementos well in advance.
I am not sure yet if my family will accompany for Silver Jubilee event. How do I go about Registration now?
No problem! For now, please go ahead and register for any of the Self packages (Standard Self, Nostalgic Self, Premium Self)
You will have an opportunity to confirm your family participation at a later point. Process to add your family members will be communicated later.
Why am I being asked for T-shirt size in Registration form?
Welcome kit includes a T-shirt printed with a specially designed logo for this event.
Why is Registration form collecting information on hotel accommodation preference?
This is required to provide estimates to hotels and thereby negotiate better room tariffs as applicable.
What is “Comments / Remarks” field for in Registration form?
Any special remarks you would like to convey to organizing committee could be conveyed using this "Comments / Remarks" field.
What if Alumna (She) and Alumnus (He) are in one family. Do both of them need to register separately and pay twice the amount?
No. For such Alumni family, only one of them are required to register but both can attend. Please make sure you provide other Alumni details in "Comments / Remarks" field in Registration form.
What are the Endowment and Alumni funds used for?
Endowment funds are used towards Staff Welfare and Alumni funds are used for various projects executed from time to time at NIT.
Registration form does not open properly on my mobile device. What can I do?
Registration form on the website is best viewed on Desktop / Laptop in 1920x1080 resolution. To open Registration form only (not entire website) on Mobile device, please Click here.
If program is cancelled? What will happen to funds collected?
All funds will be contributed to NIT Alumni funds for various needs & projects of NIT.
I can’t make it to the reunion meet, how can I order Memento?
Please get in touch with organizing committee to coordinate this. You will be required to transfer Rs. 6,500/- plus postage for Memento.
Can I cancel Registration later, if I change my mind due to any reasons?
There is no process like cancelling Registration. As Registration fee is non-refundable, no cancellation is required. If you happen to decide not to come, please inform one of the committee members. Your funds will be sent to Alumni funds and/or for the event for proper use of them on Event / NITC projects etc.
I am interested in attending this Silver Jubilee event but have financial constraints. How can I participate?

Accommodation / Commute FAQs
Why should I book at the recommended hotels?
It is recommended that you stay at the hotels proposed due to following reasons:
1) Room tariffs are discounted prices for this event attendees
2) Shuttle services will be available from these hotels to College and Gala event venue
By when should I book hotels? Why should I book hotels so early?
Reservations must be made at the earliest and not wait till last moment as December month is a wedding month and rooms might not be available for long.
Can I stay at some other hotel other than those proposed on "Accommodation" page?
It is recommended that you stay at the hotels proposed due to following reasons:
1) Room tariffs are discounted prices for this event attendees
2) Shuttle services will be available from these hotels to College and Gala event venue
However, if you need to stay at some other hotel due to any reasons please make sure you specify that no hotel accommodation is needed while submitting Registration form. Please note that you will be responsible for commute from your hotel to the location where shuttle services will operate from.
Can I reserve hotel rooms for more days before and after the key dates (Day-1 DEC 27th, Day-2 DEC 28th)?
Any of your reservations beyond Day-1 DEC 27th and Day-2 DEC 28th might not be available at discounted room tariffs provided to event attendees. However, you are free to make your own plans beyond the key event dates.
What are the room tariffs for the hotels?

Is there any preferred choice of hotel?
The Raviz Kadavu is the venue for Gala event and hence is the preferred hotel choice, as long as rooms are available.
What PROMO code must be used while making hotel reservations?
Please send WhatsApp message to your Branch committee members to receive PROMO codes. Not every hotel might have a PROMO code. Kindly DO NOT share the PROMO code with others. Let each attendee reach out to committee themselves to get their PROMO code. This is to avoid misuse of it by others out there in internet or to avoid any confusions.
Will there be any shuttle service between Airport / Railway station and Hotels?
No. You must use local transportation facilities for your commute between Airport / Railway station and Hotel. Shuttle service will be available for commute between Hotels and College / Gala Event venue only.
Will there be any shuttle service from Hotel to College and Gala Event venue?
Yes. Event management team will arrange shuttle service between Hotel and College / Gala Event venue.
I will be sharing a hotel room, how do I know who else has registered so that I can coordinate with them offline for room sharing and accordingly book hotel rooms?
At the end of every week since Registration is opened, Attendees list will be posted in this website.
